France is home to four Airbus manufacturing sites, along with three final assembly lines and the company’s headquarters. The manufacturing sites form the Centre of Excellence for aircraft nose sections, centre fuselages and engine pylons and nacelles. One of those sites located on the French Atlantic coast – The Airbus facility in Saint-Nazaire- is set on two production sites covering 50 hectares, with a workforce of some 2,300 people. The development of innovative technologies like thermoplastics and laser beam welding has led to significant reduction of production costs. The 555-seat A380 – Fuselage sections delivered from Saint-Nazaire are equipped with system and structural parts manufactured in the plant’s production units.
 “With hundreds of visitors a day, having each visitor issued and carried with simple identification pass was part of a very complex process,” said Mr. Da Rocha, Director of Sales and Marketing, Perimatic – Solution provider. At Airbus, the main feature of 250 units of Bixolon SRP-770II is assigned to help get the printed pass faster out and keep the queue of visitors shorter. Visitor’s information entered at a Identification management terminal through the Serial and Parallel interface and arrive at the back office saving this data. An Bixolon SRP-770II printer produces the pass for the corresponding staff. With printed pass, the visitor wears it on the chest for visible identification.
“The major 2 features of the Bixolon SRP-770II were the main reason for choice. It was easy-to-install and easy-to-use. To optimize the lead time and enhance the visibility of pass, printing speed and print quality are taken for choice importantly as well.,” Said Mr. Da Rocha.
